WHAT IS PARTNERS IN EDUCATION PROGRAM?
The Partners in Education Program is sometimes referred to as the Adopt-A-School Program. This program forms collaborative agreements between schools and businesses that support students' achievements through shared time and resources. Each partnership is unique and individually planned by the school and partner.
In September 1999, the School and Community Partnerships Office began collaboration with business and community organizations to share information and ideas that would help support ABC Unified School District's main focus, "student achievement." Since this time approximately 300 businesses have offered to support student achievement. Some of those collaborative activities include mentoring, job shadowing, tutoring, internships, enrichment activities, material and financial donations. If you would like to be part of this collaboration please call Ann Griffo at (562) 926-5566 ext. 21197.
