What is a Magnet School?
Magnet Schools are special programs that offer theme based curriculum for students with special interests. They were developed so children who show aptitude or interest in certain areas such as math or the arts have a place to develop those interests and prepare for college. They have innovative programs that are designed to enhance the students' educational experience. Magnet Schools are chosen by the district and the federal government to receive extra funding, equipment, teachers and training to specialize in a chosen field or two.
