What is a Magnet School?
A Magnet School is one that is chosen by the district and the U.S. Department of Education, to receive extra funding, equipment, teachers, and training to “specialize” in a specialized theme.
Magnet Schools were developed so that children who show aptitude or interest in certain
areas such as math, computer science, or the arts have a place to develop those interests
and prepare for college. All magnet schools provide programs that are aligned with the
California Academic Content Standards. |
