The classes cover a wide range of areas yet are drawn together through the use of trans-disciplinary projects. These shared projects require application of information from the classes themselves, independent research, collaborative partnerships, and intercultural understanding in their creation and development. Although not the only driving force for instruction and learning at Fedde, these trans-disciplinary projects are designed to provide meaning and relevance to the classes that students are taking.
To assist in this program, students are exposed to five unifying strands that occur throughout the program at all grade levels. These Areas of Interaction range from student self-awareness in learning, recognition of the responsibility to the environment and community, and continue towards making informed decisions about healthy living and exploring the human capacity for creativity and invention.
To help prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, technology is infused throughout the school. Through the use of video conferencing, student-produced podcasts, and advanced computer video conferencing, students will connect with and share information among their peers at school and across the globe. Fedde students will apply this shared information within their classes, projects and presentations.
