Vision:
The vision at Ross Academy for Creative and Media Arts is for all students to develop their individual talents and their own creative abilities. Our Magnet Program will provide an enriched and diverse curriculum through learning experiences in the Creative, Performing, and Media Arts, using state-of-the-art-technology.
The Ross Program Offers:
- Seventh grade students will experience exploratory arts classes.
- Eighth grade students will choose courses that focus on one of the art disciplines and continue with either a semester or a full year class.

- All academic and artistic courses of study are both interactive and dynamic and are designed to capture the interest of the learner on multiple levels.
- At the conclusion of the courses of study, students will display, perform, and demonstrate their newly acquired talents and abilities through a culminating activity to be presented to the community.
- Literary Arts Education (creative writing, photo journalism, script writing)
- Fine Arts Education (printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, drawing)
- Theater Arts Education (acting, stage production, set and costume design)
- Media Arts Education (video production, graphic design, advertising)
- Musical Arts Education (band, orchestra, choir)
- A state-of-the-art computer lab
- Music lab for use in the Yamaha
- "Music in Education" program.

Ross Academy of Creative and Media Arts (RACMA) offers an assortment of after school enrichment and honors
classes including classes such as Ballroom and Modern Urban Dance. You could say there is Dance Fever at Ross
with over 200 students signed up! Classes are offered after school for three hours daily, Monday through Friday.
Keeping the focus on the arts, additional after school programs include: Introduction to Improv (improvisational acting),
Experience in Theater, Dance for Musical Theater, Crafts, Jewelry Making, Living History Crafts, Costume Design, Food Art
and Culinary Preparation, Creative Writing, Oral Presentation, Ceramics, Digital Media- iPhoto/Printshop, Video Production,
Chorus, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Colorguard, Drumline, Exploring Human Anatomy, and Viewing the Heavens-Astronomy.
During regular school hours seventh grade students experience exploratory classes in the four major art disciplines.
The nine week classes include Music in Education making use of 30 electronic keyboards, Applied Arts in the art lab,
Media Arts in the computer lab and Drama in both classrooms and on the school stage.

Eighth grade electives include
selections from the Music Department such as Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Band. In Visual Arts students choose
from Painting/Drawing, Ceramics and Printmakingand in Media Arts choices include Video Production and Journalism/Yearbook.
In Language Arts students may choose Creative Writing/Public Speaking, while in Theater Arts electives are offered in Drama-Script Writing,
Acting and Performance. Additional electives include Ecology/Gardening and Associated Student Body.
The entire student body takes advantage of the opportunity to enjoy excellent theatrical, music and dance shows at
the Mark Taper Forum and the Los Angeles Music Center. Students continue to attend shows presented by the Friends of
Arts Education at the Cerritos Center of the Performing Arts.
