All workshops are Wednesday Nights from 6:30 – 8:30 pm (unless otherwise noted)

PTA LEADERSHIP FOR PARENTS AND YOUR KIDS – 9/23 District Boardroom

This workshop will be of interest to parents of Elementary, Middle and High School students. The PTA has many benefits beyond book fairs and fundraisers. STRATEGIC COLLEGE PLANNING AND PLAYING THE MONEY GAME – 11/18-District Boardroom

This is two workshops in one. Most families don’t plan to fail . . . they just fail to plan! Come and discover the real cost of a college education. Learn about scholarships, grants, and savings accounts. Then stay to hear how you can achieve your financial goals by learning how to play the money game. (English-Spanish)

OVERVIEW OF 6th GRADE FAMILY LIFE & SEX EDUCATION PROGRAM - 11/19/09 and 02/25/10 - Preview the Family Life and Sex Education Program that has been approved by the ABC Unified Board of Education to be presented to your sixth grade student. Parent consent is required for students to participate in the program. The workshop will give an overview of the lessons in the program as well as show some of the films that will be seen by the students.

Learn how to integrate ethical values and social/emotional competencies into your home. Discover the power of The 40 Developmental Assets that will guide your children toward self-advocacy, goal setting, and responsible decision –making behaviors at home and in the academic setting. EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT SCHOOL CONNECTEDNESS AND CYBER BULLYING – 4/21-District Boardroom

You will be actively involved as you learn to differentiate between the myths and facts that surround bullying and gain insight into the impact cyber bullying has on the social/emotional development and academic achievement of your children. (English-Spanish)
