Cerritos High School has a strong, on-going history of academic excellence with highly motivated students who are involved in every aspect of their secondary education experience. We are proud of our students as they excel in their studies, establish friendships and demonstrate school pride.

Cerritos High School is one of the foremost educational institutions in the United States. We continue to receive national and state recognition for our academic achievements. For the past five years, Newsweek Magazine has named CHS as one of top high schools in the United States. Our students consistently continue to score over the 800 benchmark on the state’s Academic Performance Index (API) with substantial growth in the last two years. College Preparatory classes make up the foundation of courses offered with a variety of elective classes "rounding out" the master schedule. Many Advanced Placement classes challenge our students in a most rigorous curricular environment. |
| AP test results demonstrate the overall pass rate that continues to be above 70% with an increase in the number of AP tests taken by our students. Our CHS graduates continue to be accepted and successful at private and public universities and colleges. These distinctions illustrate the result of consistently high academic achievement by our students and the hard work of a dedicated faculty and staff. |  |

Students are enthusiastically involved in a myriad of co-curricular activities. Countless clubs and organizations cultivate imaginations, promote leadership, and provide invaluable opportunities for our students to demonstrate their leadership skills, talents and individual interests. Students continue to uphold Cerritos High School’s strong traditions and challenging academic environment. As stated in our mission statement, CHS, supported by the district administration, provides a comprehensive, balanced educational program that promotes intellectual, social, emotional, character, and physical growth of each or our students. |
